Shipley Do-Nuts, a beloved purveyor of hot, fresh, handcrafted donuts, is set to open a new location at 144 S Brook Dr. in Leander, TX. Construction for the new shop, situated in Williamson County, is scheduled to begin on November 4, 2024, with an expected completion date of February 10, 2025. The project involves a 1,735 square foot interior build-out, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work, with an estimated cost of $250,000.
A Legacy of Deliciousness
The story of Shipley Do-Nuts dates back to 1936 when Lawrence Shipley Sr. crafted his original recipe for hot, fresh donuts. His creations were so fluffy, simple, and delicious that they quickly gained popularity. By the mid-1940s, Shipley Sr. had moved from selling his donuts wholesale for just 5¢ a dozen to opening the first Shipley Do-Nuts shop in Houston, TX.
Today, Shipley Do-Nuts continues to uphold Lawrence Shipley Sr.’s commitment to quality and freshness. The plain glazed donut remains the most popular, but with over 60 varieties, customers can always find something new to enjoy. Shipley’s philosophy, as articulated by its founder, remains at the heart of its operations:
