Ascension Seton Williamson to Begin $135 Million Expansion and Renovation in October 2024

Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital, located at 201 Seton Parkway in Round Rock, is set to begin a significant expansion and renovation project starting October 1, 2024. The project, estimated to cost $135 million, is expected to be completed by March 31, 2026.

This privately funded project involves a 225,000-square-foot addition to the existing hospital structure. The scope of work includes the construction of a six-floor tower, an emergency department shell, imaging and clinical decision unit (CDU) spaces, operating rooms, a catheterization lab, materials management areas, and an expansion of the central utility plant (CUP) and dock. Additionally, the project will renovate several critical departments within the hospital, including the lab, pharmacy, dietary services, and endoscopy.

BSA LifeStructures, a national integrated design firm specializing in healthcare, education, and research facilities, has been chosen to design the expansion. The firm, headquartered at 1600 S 1st Street, Suite 150, Austin, TX, brings extensive experience to the project, having worked on similar large-scale healthcare facilities across the country, including UCHealth Greeley Hospital and Medical Center in Colorado and the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute at Indiana University.

Ascension Seton operates 13 hospitals, including four teaching hospitals, and over 100 clinical locations throughout Central Texas. The expansion at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital will enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver 24/7 emergency care and advanced specialty services to the growing Round Rock community.
