Rowdy Cowboy to Open Largest Location Yet in Round Rock on March 13

A North Texas-based sports bar and restaurant brand is expanding into Central Texas with its largest location to date.

Rowdy Cowboy will open March 13 at 11 a.m. at 2401 South I-35 Frontage Road in Round Rock, marking the company’s third restaurant following openings in Grapevine and The Colony. The concept combines a sports bar atmosphere with a Texas-focused scratch kitchen, handcrafted cocktails and live-energy design elements.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Rowdy Cowboy to the Round Rock and greater Austin community,” said Regional Manager, Julia Smith. “Austin-area guests appreciate great food, great music, and a place that feels authentic. That’s exactly what we do. Expanding into this market is a natural next step for us, and we’re looking forward to becoming part of the local scene.”

The Round Rock restaurant spans 7,790 square feet and includes seating for more than 300 guests indoors, plus a wraparound patio with space for an additional 75 patrons. The space is designed to accommodate both daytime dining and evening entertainment, with a 40-foot white oak bar as the centerpiece and design features that incorporate reclaimed textures and Texas-themed décor.

The venue includes 75 televisions, highlighted by a quad-screen display measuring more than 110 inches, and a flexible back area intended for private events, watch parties and corporate gatherings.

The concept also features the brand’s “Rowdy Cowgirls” service staff and a beverage program that includes 32 draft beers, with selections from Austin-area breweries, along with an extensive bourbon and whiskey lineup. A membership-based Rowdy Locker Club offers 45 custom lockers for guests seeking a personalized whiskey experience.

Executive Chef Pepe oversees culinary development across all locations and will work with a managing chef to lead the Round Rock kitchen.

“We’re not just another sports bar,” said Chef Pepe. “Our focus has always been on quality – scratch-made food, bold flavors, and an experience that’s as memorable as a Friday night under the lights.”

Menu items include Burnt Ends Jalapeños, the Rowdy Ribeye steak and Apple Crumble dessert, reflecting the company’s emphasis on made-from-scratch offerings and large portions.

Company officials said the Grapevine location became the top sit-down restaurant in liquor sales in Tarrant County/Fort Worth, according to Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission reporting, while the Colony location has continued to build the brand’s presence in North Texas.

Additional expansion is planned, with two more locations in development, including another Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant scheduled for 2026 and a fifth location planned in another Texas market outside the region.
