Georgetown Police Chief Cory Tchida swore in nine new officers Wednesday, expanding the department with a mix of experienced law enforcement personnel and recent academy graduates.
Two of the officers join the department with prior law enforcement experience, while the other seven graduated from the police academy Monday after completing their required training.
The new Georgetown police officers are Myra Bantay, David Lowthorp, Caleb Jhanke, Clyde Roberson, Jesse Dombroskas, Clayton Steele, Micah Ross, Justin Hibdon and Dillon Stapleton.
Department officials welcomed the officers and said their experience, training and commitment will strengthen the agency’s efforts to serve and protect the Georgetown community.
