Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter has expanded its participation in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s nationwide “Empty the Shelters” campaign, reducing adoption fees for all dogs to $25 through July 18.
The shelter announced the expanded promotion Friday, making every dog available for the discounted adoption fee regardless of age, size or breed. Shelter officials said the event now includes more than 20 small-breed dogs and puppies currently available for adoption.
The adoption special is part of BISSELL Pet Foundation’s national effort to reduce shelter populations and connect homeless pets with permanent homes.
The shelter is encouraging prospective adopters to visit and meet the available animals, noting that the promotion applies to adult dogs, puppies, large breeds and small breeds alike.
Adoptions are available from noon to 6 p.m. daily through July 18 at two Georgetown locations:
- Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter Main Campus
- 1855 S.E. Inner Loop, Georgetown
- Red Poppy Adoptique
- 110 Walden Drive, Georgetown
Shelter representatives said the goal of the event is to help more dogs find homes while easing overcrowding and increasing adoption opportunities during the summer months.
The BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” initiative has helped place hundreds of thousands of shelter pets into homes nationwide since its launch.
Residents interested in adopting are encouraged to visit either location before July 18 to take advantage of the reduced adoption fee and meet available dogs.
