Brazilian steakhouse chain Fogo de Chão plans to build a $4.5 million restaurant at 1005 E. New Hope Drive, according to a state construction filing.
The 10,178-square-foot restaurant would occupy a new, single-story building on an existing development pad. Construction is scheduled to begin Feb. 1, 2027, with completion estimated for Aug. 31, 2027. That construction timeline does not establish an opening date.
Founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1979, Fogo de Chão specializes in churrasco, a Brazilian tradition of grilling meats over an open flame. Its signature dining experience features chefs serving and carving meats at the table, accompanied by Brazilian side dishes and a Market Table with salads, vegetables, cheeses and cured meats.
The New Hope Drive location would put the restaurant near H-E-B Center at Cedar Park and the CedarView development, which includes Scheels and plans for Nebraska Furniture Mart, a hotel and convention space. Other businesses along the nearby stretch of East New Hope Drive include 54th Street Restaurant & Drafthouse and Hyatt Place Austin/Cedar Park.
The privately funded restaurant project includes the building’s foundation and structural work, kitchen equipment, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical systems and interior finishes.
