Over a third of the upcoming 37 evenings will feature at least one outdoor live music event at the H-E-B Cedar Park Center or the Haute Spot Event Venue. Both venues have drawn social media complaints on platforms like NextDoor and Facebook along with 50 noise complaints fielded by the Cedar Park Police Department.
While Haute Spot is listed as the venue on entertainment guides and ticketing sites, Tom Spano, Haute Spot’s CEO, issued a statement disavowing responsibility for the events and minimizing the extent of the complaints to “a few neighbors” negatively impacted.
Spano cited the benefits to Austin’s live music community as greatly exceeding the inconvenience experienced by neighbors in the Cedar Park and Leander communities surrounding his venue who complain that activities like working, studying, and getting children to sleep are difficult with the bass from the events rattling the walls and windows in their homes.
