City Post, an upscale steak and seafood restaurant in the heart of Georgetown, near the square at 113 E 8th St., is currently putting the finishing touches on a massive renovation. Located in the original Georgetown Post Office, the restaurant’s owners preserved features like the old post office boxes in the remodel striving for an aesthetic that is “rich in history and nostalgia.” While an exact opening date has not been published, this post on the fine dining establishment’s Facebook page makes it appear that the soft opening will be soon: “The City Post Oyster Bar is almost open! We can hardly stand it, you might say we are splitting at the seams!”
