Austin-based taco chain Tacodeli is planning a new location in Leander, with a $600,000 tenant improvement project scheduled to begin later this year, according to project filings.
Construction is set to start Sept. 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Nov. 24, 2026, at 408 E. San Gabriel Parkway, Suite 110.
The project involves converting an empty commercial shell into a full-service restaurant through interior build-out rather than structural renovation. Planned improvements include installation of a kitchen, dining area, restrooms and rooftop equipment. The space will total approximately 2,436 square feet.
Tacodeli was founded in Austin in 1999 and draws inspiration from founder Roberto Espinosa’s upbringing in Mexico City. The company is known for its handcrafted tacos, emphasis on quality ingredients and community-focused approach.
Company materials highlight a mission centered on Mexican authenticity, thoughtful sourcing and strong community partnerships, including support for local nonprofits and participation in regional events.
The Leander restaurant will mark a new location for the brand as it continues to expand in Central Texas. Based on the construction timeline, the restaurant could open before the end of 2026, adding another dining option along the growing San Gabriel Parkway corridor.
