FireChar, a new Vietnamese restaurant specializing in bún bò Huế and char-grilled dishes, is coming to the Anderson Arbor shopping center in Northwest Austin.
The restaurant announced that it will open near Happy Lamb Hot Pot at 13435 U.S. Highway 183. A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists the project at 13343 N. U.S. Highway 183, Suite 295, within the same shopping center.
Plans call for converting a 1,897-square-foot unfinished commercial space into a restaurant. The renovation is expected to cost $300,000.
Construction is scheduled to begin Nov. 1, 2026, and conclude April 1, 2027. Construction dates and costs listed in state filings are estimates and may change.
FireChar’s signature dish will be bún bò Huế, a spicy Vietnamese noodle soup associated with the central Vietnamese city of Huế. The restaurant describes its version as a family-inspired recipe featuring a rich broth, beef, noodles and fresh herbs.
Its menu will also feature Vietnamese char-grilled specialties, although the restaurant has not yet released a complete menu or announced an opening date.
