Twenty-seven restaurant, coffee, bar and dessert projects have been registered in Williamson County since March 1, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation data.
The filings represent about $9.1 million in listed construction costs and include projects in Leander, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto and Liberty Hill. The data comes from TDLR Architectural Barriers filings, which track qualifying construction and renovation projects rather than restaurant opening dates. TDLR says projects with estimated costs of $50,000 or more are required to submit construction documents for registration and review.
Leander and Round Rock led the county, with nine food and drink projects each. Cedar Park had three, while Georgetown, Hutto and Liberty Hill each had two.
The largest filings were an $850,000 new construction filing for Chicken Salad Chick in Leander, an $800,000 renovation for Taco Bell Brushy Creek in Round Rock and an $800,000 new construction filing for La Tequila Jalisco in Liberty Hill. TDLR records list the Chicken Salad Chick project as a 2,582-square-foot restaurant build-out at 1060 Hero Way in Leander.
In Leander, the filings include Fusion Fast Food Cafe, Chicken Salad Chick, Prose and Pints, Crave Cookies, Handel’s Ice Cream, Urban Egg Eatery, Foxtail, Tifa Chocolate and Gelato and Pepper Lunch. The Prose and Pints filing describes the project as a bookstore and beer tasting lounge at 1892 N. U.S. 183.
Round Rock filings include Black Rock Coffee Bar, Casa Masa Restaurant, Conejos Round Rock, Yaya’s Restaurant, Taco Bell Brushy Creek, Casa do Brasil, Wingstop, Moka and Co and Outpost Coffee. The Conejos filing describes the work as an interior remodel of an existing restaurant at 3200 Greenlawn Blvd.
Cedar Park filings include Shu & Spice, Melito Ice Cream Shop and Huddle Tavern. Georgetown filings include Country Donuts and Roliz Ice Cream Dessert and Cafe. The Country Donuts filing describes the project as a tenant build-out of an existing shell to become a donut shop.
Hutto filings include Chick-fil-A and Munch Munch Waffles & More. Liberty Hill filings include Mackey’s Pizza and La Tequila Jalisco.
The count excludes grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, butcher shops and general retail shell buildings unless the filing clearly identified a restaurant, bar, coffee, cafe, dessert or similar food-service use.
