Japanese fast-casual chain Pepper Lunch is planning a new restaurant in Leander, bringing its signature interactive dining concept to the city.
According to a news release published by the City of Leander, the restaurant is planned at 516 E. San Gabriel Parkway.
Founded in Japan, Pepper Lunch is known for its “Sizzle It Your Way” dining experience, in which meals are served on hot iron plates that allow customers to mix ingredients and finish cooking portions of their meals at the table. The concept combines elements of fast-casual dining with a customizable, hands-on experience.
The menu includes the brand’s popular Beef Pepper Rice, along with steak, teriyaki dishes, curry, pasta, seafood and plant-based options.
State project filings indicate construction is expected to begin in July and be completed in September. An opening date has not been announced.
Pepper Lunch operates locations across Asia, Australia, the Middle East and North America, and has been expanding its U.S. footprint in recent years.
The Leander restaurant would add another international dining option to the city’s growing restaurant scene.
