Tifa Chocolate & Gelato, a growing dessert shop chain offering handcrafted gelato, gourmet chocolates and artisanal coffee, plans to open its first Central Texas location in Leander.
The 1,200-square-foot shop will be located at 508 E. San Gabriel Parkway, Suite 150, in the Northline development. The menu will feature 24 rotating gelato flavors, chocolates, espresso drinks, hot chocolate and pastries.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing lists an estimated construction cost of $175,000. Renovations are scheduled to begin Oct. 1 and conclude Dec. 1. The project will include new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and interior finishes within an existing shell space.
Franchise owners Steve and Erin Handler expect the shop to open in early 2027. A professionally trained chef will oversee gelato production when the business opens, according to Community Impact.
The Leander shop is expected to become Tifa’s third Texas location and its first in Central Texas. The chain currently operates shops in the Dallas and Houston areas and has locations planned in several states.
An exact opening date has not been announced.
