Building permits have been filed and Williamson Reporter has confirmed that CAVA will replace the Zoёs Kitchen location at 905 East Whitestone in Cedar Park later this summer. Prior to Zoe’s closing earlier this week, Reporter contacted the local store manager who said that the Cedar Park store is among the first of many planned Zoe’s to Cava conversions. Both restaurant brands are owned by the same corporation, Cava Group. According to Nation’s Restaurant News, “Fast-casual Mediterranean operator Cava Group has begun converting some of the Zoe’s Kitchen restaurants it acquired in 2018 to the Cava concept.” Local Zoe’s restaurant staffers and management will be dispersed among other area restaurants in the group while renovations are occurring. They will return to work in Cedar Park’s new Cava Grill when it opens.

CAVA, according to the restaurant brand’s Facebook page, is “about transforming better-for-you ingredients into bigger-than-life flavors, and empowering you to do the same.” The concept started in DC with three Greek friends who wanted to share the Mediterranean flavors they grew up loving. The chain strives to create restaurants “full to the brim with all the bright, craveable ingredients you need to build a meal that fits your food-style, cravings, and appetite.”
