Piada Italian Street Food planned for Northline in Leander

Piada Italian Street Food is planning a new location at Northline in Leander, according to a state construction filing.

The restaurant is planned for 516 E. San Gabriel Parkway, Suite 110. The filing describes the project as an interior renovation of a new tenant space while the developer builds the shell building.

The privately funded project is estimated to cost $500,000 and covers 2,750 square feet. Construction is scheduled to begin July 24 and be completed Sept. 1, according to the filing.

Piada Italian Street Food opened its first restaurant in 2010. The company says its concept was inspired by a trip to Rimini, Italy, where its chefs encountered roadside food trucks and corner markets serving family recipes made with simple, fresh ingredients.

The fast-casual Italian restaurant serves made-to-order meals inspired by Italian street food.

The filing does not list an opening date for the Leander restaurant.
