The Round Rock Public Library will bring together local writers and readers next month for a Local Author Meet and Greet featuring children’s books, nonfiction and works on technology and organizational leadership.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the library’s lobby and Youth Services Program Space. Visitors will be able to browse books, meet the writers and purchase signed copies directly from participating authors.
Ten percent of book sales during the event will benefit the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library, according to the library.
The announced authors are Wensly Anijs, Shannon Bryant, Kristin Rice, Shannon L. Mokry, Sudheesh Sudhakaran, Varun Thazhathekalathil, Sabarish Sasidharan Nair, Courtney Parker, Lisa Sitze and Amiyo Basu.
The authors represent a range of genres and subjects.
Mokry is a Texas children’s author and publisher whose works include The Little Golden Hen, The Little Pink Elephant, Little Fox’s Day in the Snow, Three Silly Sisters and the 2025 children’s book Hey Little Birdie, What’s Your Name? Google Books describes her as the author of more than 20 books, many accompanied by activity books and other educational materials.
Sitze is the author of Facing Your Demons: Healing Beyond Narcissistic Family Relationships, a nonfiction book published in 2025 that focuses on healing from harmful family relationships and reclaiming personal agency.
Sudhakaran, Thazhathekalathil and Sasidharan Nair are co-authors of Triad Flow: Redesigning Enterprise Delivery Beyond Agile and Scrum, published by Legacy Books in June. The book presents an organizational model intended to address structural problems in large-scale software and enterprise delivery.
Basu has published poetry, including Shadow Leaning on Light and Nature’s Secrecy: Collected Poems.
Rice, who also participated in the library’s 2025 local-author event, is a Texas-born writer with a background in theater and English from Texas A&M University. The library described her work at last year’s event as including a children’s book inspired by her own children.
Anijs is a co-founder of Texas-based Ahala Press and writes and develops children’s educational materials focused on literacy, confidence and financial awareness.
Publicly available search results were not clear enough to reliably match specific book titles to Shannon Bryant or to confirm that the Courtney Parker appearing on the library’s 2026 program is the same author as other writers by that name. Rather than risk attributing books to the wrong people, their specific titles are not listed here.
The Round Rock Public Library has held similar local-author events in previous years, giving area writers an opportunity to meet readers and sell their work while raising money for the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library.
The Oct. 24 event is open to the community and runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
