Anchor Bar & Restaurant, the Buffalo, NY bar that invented Buffalo Wings is coming to the La Frontera shopping center in Round Rock. Construction has commenced on the new Anchor Bar & Restaurant – Round Rock, TX, to operated by a franchisee, in the building that was formerly Logan’s Roadhouse at 2702 Parker Drive.
How Anchor Bar invented Buffalo Wings
On a Friday night in 1964, in an effort to feed hungry patrons in a pinch, the Anchor’s owners deep fried chicken wings and flavored them with a secret sauce. According to Anchor Bar’s website, the Buffalo Wings, made from a part of the chicken that usually went into the stock pot for soup, were an instant hit. From that evening on, Buffalo Wings became a regular part of the menu at the Anchor Bar.
