Bell District brings new library, mixed-use development to Cedar Park

The Bell District is reshaping the historic Bell Boulevard corridor into a walkable, mixed-use destination with public green space, restaurants, retail, housing, offices and a new public library.

The 54-acre project is being developed through a public-private partnership between the City of Cedar Park and RedLeaf. The district is designed around community gathering spaces, trails and parkland, with development planned in phases.

The new Cedar Park Public Library opened in November 2024 as a central feature of the district. The 47,000-square-foot facility includes expanded collections, meeting and event rooms, maker spaces, STEM kits and 3D printers. The library has received the ULI Austin Best Public Place award, the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award and LEED Gold certification.

The Bell District also includes The Backyard, a public lawn and park space framed by pecan and live oak trees, along with trails connecting to the Cedar Park Regional Trail Network. The district hosts community programming including the Texas Farmers’ Market at Bell, yoga in the park and outdoor events.

Future phases include The Marketplace at Bell, with restaurants and retail along The Backyard, and The Residences at Bell, which will bring apartments in mixed-use buildings with ground-floor retail. Later residential phases are expected to include brownstones available for purchase.

The Offices at Bell are planned for the north side of the development, with about 150,000 square feet of Class A office space and access to major transportation corridors including 183A.

City and development officials have described The Bell District as a long-term effort to create a new civic and commercial hub in the heart of Cedar Park.
